Total chaos in Volendam: violent disturbances after the match between Ajax and FC Groningen
On Thursday night, images emerged on social media of disturbances after the playoff match between Ajax and FC Groningen. In the videos, it’s possible to see how a group of fans in the visitor area attempts to invade the isolated zone where Ajax fans are located.
The fans push the fences and manage to knock down several barriers. Behind the fences, a line of the Mobile Unit [police] is positioned and intervenes immediately to prevent further escalation.
In the images, it’s possible to see how the Mobile Unit detains the group and makes them retreat towards the FC Groningen buses.
One of the police officers present launches tear gas to make the crowd [disperse/retreat – sentence cut off].
O Ajax dominou o jogo.
